Trofeo Laigueglia – Pietropolli and Cunego blue-fuchsia captains

He’ll be at the start of Trofeo Laigueglia 2012 with the number 1 on his back: he’s Daniele Pietropolli, the winner of the 2011 edition of the race.
Pietropolli (photo Bettini) will try to repeat the victory, but Lampre-ISD will rely also on Damiano Cunego, who recently made his debut in 2012 season in Challenge Calabria.
In the team, that will be directed by Maurizio Piovani, there will be also Bertagnolli, Bono, Cimolai, Righi and Viganò, who all took part in Challenge Calabria, and Malori, in his first race in the current year.

“I will be back in Laigueglia after the victory in 2011, when my dream of conquering the race became true – Pietropolli said – The course of Trofeo Laigueglia 2012 is tougher than in 2011, so the athletes with a good fit will have more chance of victory. I’m pedaling in a competitive way, even if Challenge Calabria was less training than last year. I’m confident in a good result, also because the team will be competitive and on my side there will be a champion such Cunego”.

These are the aims for Cunego: “Trofeo Laigueglia has always a charming atmosphere so I’m happy to take part in this race again. The course will be tougher and I had raced only in two days in 2012, so I think that it would be difficult to be protagonist. Anyway, I’m willing to perform an good race, also because I’ll have the spur of a good team and a cyclists such Pietropolli that could aim to win”.
